You have 8 seconds to engage your page visitor, according to eye tracking studies. So here’s what to do to grab them.
1. Make sure headline is at the top and contains product benefits and keywords
2. Use a product shot or a relevant image; captions get high readability
3. Keep layout simple, one column; put elements in order: headline, subhead, image, copy
4. Make type at least 10 point in size and sans-serif, black text on a white background; flush left
5. Ditch the navigation; it de-clutters your page
6. Keywords in your headline, subhead and copy
7. Match the keywords of your originating sales page or email
8. For your ’submit’ button, use action verbs and repeat your headline offer
9. Keep order forms simple; unnecessary fields reduce response
10. Add a privacy statement; alleviates fear of being spammed
