A few key words about keyword density

by wordwrangler on August 7, 2009

Keywords obviously can be used to optimize your search engine ranking and thus get more traffic to your site. But you don’t want to overdo it at the risk of appearing spam-like.

Opinions vary on the optimum keyword density. Some say 3%-5%, others say 2%-3%. Three percent seems to be a middle ground. That would be 30 keywords per 1,000-word article.

Then there are sites like Ezinearticles, however, that will reject your article if your keyword is repeated more often than every 100 words.

Keywords should be used in your headings and sub-headings, but don’t repeat the same ones in both. Above all, make sure you have the right key words.
